“Hello,Â
My name is Salifu Z.G. Cajetan, a twenty-seven-year-old man and a native of Jirapa in the Upper West Region of Ghana, West Africa. I am a Registered General Nurse in the West Gonja Catholic Hospital (nu St. Anne’s Hospital) and have been working in the pediatric unit of the above health facility for two years now (2017-2019). I love to read books relating to pediatrics and also play volleyball at my leisure time.
I am glad to inform you that I have gained admission into the Ghana College of Nurses and Midwives to pursue a one-year specialization course in Pediatric Nursing beginning from the 30th September 2019.Â
I am motivated to pursue pediatric nursing because from my two years working experience in the pediatric unit, I have developed great interest and passion for kids. Furthermore, the number of pediatric nurses in my facility is woefully inadequate to effectively meet the health needs of these vulnerable group of people.
Also, children are very delicate fragile and vulnerable and hence need more skilled and specialized care hence my desire to study pediatric nursing to equip me with the needed skills to be able to save the lives of these great future leaders.”
